At about 2,600 feet, Oro Valley runs a little cooler than Phoenix and a little cooler than Tucson proper, which widens the comfortable outdoor window at both ends of summer. Monsoon afternoons hit Southern Arizona harder than the Valley, so dates between July and September get a firm weather call time. We travel down I-10 for these and plan a full on-site day rather than a drive-in.
